Founded in 1993 within the Boğaziçi University Folklore Club, the group creates a common musical language by presenting folk songs from different ethnic and cultural origins of Anatolia with modern arrangements.
Bringing together the music of Turks, Kurds, Armenians, Arabs and other peoples, Kardeş Türküler shows that peace and coexistence is possible by blending this diversity on stage.
The stage performances of Kardeş Türküler offer the audience a musical journey and a cultural experience at the same time. The band members, each of whom are competent musicians in their own fields, skillfully play different instruments to form a symphony orchestra on stage. Blending traditional melodies with modern rhythms, the ensemble gives the audience both emotional and enthusiastic moments. The folk songs they perform in their concerts convey the ancient stories and cultural richness of Anatolia.
Kardeş Türküler not only makes music, but also undertakes a mission to convey social messages. Through their music, the group explores themes of peace, tolerance and brotherhood, building bridges between different cultures.
Kardeş Türküler concerts not only offer an unforgettable musical feast to the audience, but also contribute to the unity and solidarity of society. The musical journey with this unique ensemble will not only wipe the rust from the ears of the audience, but will also leave deep traces in their hearts.
